Labelling My Belongings

It had been a long time since I had been in the same kind of environment, the same kind of job and the same kind of lifestyle. Of lately, when I got a chance to switch over from my current job and move to a new city, I was quiet excited. I jumped upon my bed, dancing in the most rotten way. I soon began packing up.

As I was segregating my items, I came across my DSLR and briefcase, which was not used since long because I always feared the fact that they might get lost. I even found some old containers which had different kinds of eatables in them like biscuits, chips, wafers, and candies. Amidst them, I found the Dymo 99019 labels, which were not used by me for a single time due to lack of energy. However, today I was in the best position to label all my belongings and make preparations for a great setting in the new accommodation and city.

I quickly dismantled the packing of the Dymo 99019 labels and took out the evenly sized, white rectangular shaped labels to write the names of my belongings on them. They were thermal labels, so I put the roll, which had around 150 labels into the printer and got them printed.

The very first label from the printed Dymo 99019 label roll was pasted on the DSLR, the second one on the briefcase. The old containers also had them, but with different contents inside. One of the old containers was labeled 'hair accessories' (because I had too many of them), the other one was labeled 'make up items' (no girl can survive without them) and the other one was labeled 'stationary' (that's understandable).

Not only this, the labels happened to be smudge resistant, oil resistant, and water resistant. So, I used them for labeling exteriors of my electronic products as well, prior to putting them in the cartons that can be moved to my new house. I too had medicines, toiletries, snacks, and batteries that had to be taken along. I placed one label on each one of them too.

The labels were 150 and my items much less. Yet, I used almost one-third of them and packed them too for the needs at my new place. Soon, the movers were there to fit everything into their moving truck and transport it to my new place. I had the labeled DSLR hanging down my neck to capture all these memories in it.

For the first time in life, everything seemed to be in place. While locking the door, I was so startled that I placed a label on the door too, with the farewell note. I sat in my car and drove to the new destination, with higher energies and greater expectations.
